Just Graduated? What Next?

Applying to employers speculatively as a member of the GCAS Talent Pool

If you have an organisation in mind, consider using and adapting our draft email text to approach them – keep in mind we support graduates who have experienced barriers to finding an opportunity so we do not support internships managed by your family members:

Hi [employer]

I’m XXX, a XXX graduate from XXX university. I recently joined the GCAS Talent Pool, which is a great new initiative which supports graduates who have experienced barriers to entering the graduate labour market. As a member, I am eligible to receive grant funding to support my salary for up to 6 months.

I’m interested in any opportunities you have available in XXX and would love to discuss my suitability for such roles with you.

Please take a look at the GCAS Employers section of the website for full details:

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes
